Graduates earn 21 degrees from Virginia Marti College of Art and Design


About 57.1 percent of the 21 degrees and certificates handed out by Virginia Marti College of Art and Design in 2017-18 were to students in visual and performing arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Lakewood conferred 9 associate's degrees and 3 bachelor's degrees in visual and performing arts programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in fashion merchandising. Data shows the school gave out 5 associate's degrees in fashion merchandising, followed by 4 associate's degrees in fashion/apparel design and 4 bachelor's degrees in "other" general merchandising, sales, and related marketing operations.

The college enrolled 133 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
