Graduates earn 934 degrees, certificates from Hocking College


About 19.5 percent of the 934 degrees and certificates handed out by Hocking College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Nelsonville conferred 143 associate's degrees and 39 certificates in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 102 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 98 certificates in equestrian/equine studies and 86 associate's degrees in "other" natural resources management and policy.

The college enrolled 3,375 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
