Graduates earn 2,366 degrees, certificates from Youngstown State University


About 16.5 percent of the 2,366 degrees and certificates handed out by Youngstown State University in 2017-18 were to students in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Youngstown conferred 240 bachelor's degrees and 77 master's degrees in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 123 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 93 bachelor's degrees in criminal justice/safety studies and 87 bachelor's degrees in social work.

The university enrolled 12,521 students for 2017-18, including 11,269 in undergraduate programs and 1,252 in graduate programs.
