CINCINNATI USA REGIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber Unveils Growth Policy Index

Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 7.

The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber is launching the Growth Policy Index, a scorecard that will track and highlight the votes of Cincinnati City Council members and how they align with the Chamber’s key policy principles. The Growth Policy Index will monitor the impact of key City Council votes and will communicate those results to Chamber members and the public.

“Cincinnati City Council drives policy change that have a significant impact on this community,” said Carrie Pastor, senior Government Affairs manager at the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. “This new tool will help clearly communicate how well councilmembers’ policy positions are aligned with the Cincinnati Chamber’s pro-growth agenda.”

The scorecard will be based on the Chamber’s key policy principles and its general tenets of inclusion, talent, transportation, and economic development.

“The Chamber’s policy agenda is pro-growth and focuses on inclusion, talent, transportation, and economic development,” said Katie Eagan, vice president of Government Affairs for the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. “The Growth Policy Index will make it very clear when council members are supporting – or opposing – that agenda.”

When the Chamber identifies a key vote, the Chamber will make council aware of its support or opposition. Throughout the year, the Chamber will update the 2019 Growth Policy Index as council members vote on new legislation. For updated information, visit the Cincinnati Chamber website.
