European-American Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 27.
The EACC Board of Directors held its first meeting under the leadership of new Board President Yannick Schilly on Thursday, January 24, 2019. After welcoming new board members (and acknowleding a few departures), the Board approved the minutes from the November 15, 2018 Annual General Meeting. The Board received a brief update on EACC finances, and deferred action on approving the 2019 EACC Budget pending a recommendation from the Finance and Executive Committees.
The Board heard a report from VEGA Americas CEO John Kronenberger on the work of an ad hoc EACC 'Task Force' to review and prioritize recommendations made in the Start Something Bold "Voice of the Customer" study presented at the October 2018 Board meeting. Several of the recommendations will remain on the "Back Burner" for now due to their complexity and/or capital requirement, and some small groups comprising Board and non-Board members will begin working to review and (as appropriate) recommend changes to our current Board structure and our Membership packages and benefits.
Executive Director Schwartz added that work was already underway, and would continue, to address problems identified in the report regarding EACC programs and services and committee structures. He then outlined a proposal to involve Board members in efforts to meet with EACC members directly and ensure they recognize they are a valued part of the organization.
A complete copy of the meeting minutes will be available upon request to any EACC member after they have been reviewed and approved at the April 2019 Board meeting.
