Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Oct. 4.
The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber is supporting the Hamilton County Children’s Services Levy, a new levy which would provide additional funding to decrease caseloads for caseworkers and improve outcomes through kinship care, in‑home services, parenting services and other new programs. Additionally, the Cincinnati Chamber supports the Great Oaks Career Campuses Levy, a renewal which supports job training efforts and the talent pipeline in our region.
“Passage of the Children’s Services Levy would meet our children’s needs at a time when caseloads are increasing in number and complexity,” said Jill P. Meyer, president and CEO of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. “We support this levy because it meets a critical need for Hamilton County children and because the leadership at Job and Family Services has demonstrated a collaborative, transparent, and fiscally responsible approach to operations.
“The Great Oaks Career Campuses Levy comes at a low cost to taxpayers and supports important job-training efforts,” added Ms. Meyer. “Talent development is a key initiative in growing our community’s economic prosperity. As the career-tech school with the largest footprint in our region, Great Oaks is a vital talent pipeline and an important partner in the Southwest Ohio educational landscape.”
